Robbins to join War of the Worlds cast?
Oscar winner Tim Robbins is in negotiations to star opposite Tom Cruise in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the HG Wells classic 1989 sci-fi novel War of the Worlds.
Robbins is in talks about the role of astronomer Ogilvy in the movie.
War of the Worlds is about a Martian invasion of the earth and it has has previously been adapted for stage, screen and radio.
Most famous of these was Orson Welles' notorious 1938 broadcast of a play based on the book which created mass panic in America.
The film is set to begin production in mid-November.
