Black Dahlia adaptation gets stars

It has been confirmed that Mark Wahlberg and Josh Hartnett will star in director Brian DePalma's big screen adaptation of James Ellroy's classic crime novel 'The Black Dahlia'.

Variety reports that the film is based on the murder of an actress in Los Angeles in 1947 and subsequent investigation.

The film follows two detectives who are obsessed with tracking down the killer and become trapped in a web of corruption.

Ellroy's 'LA Confidential' was brought to the screen in 1997, winning Oscars for Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.
