09/02/2004 Star of the Sea shoots up Bestseller chart
Joseph O'Connor's Star of the Sea has seen increased sales of 350% since being mentioned on Richard and Judy's Best Read of the Year. Following the mention the book has shot up 337 places in the bestseller charts and Amazon.co.uk also reported a similar rise in sales, knocking Eats, Shoots and Leaves off the No.1 spot. Another book to receive a similar books in sales, is Nigel Slaters, autobiography Toast, having being featured by Richard and Judy during the previous week.
The Richard and Judy, Best Read of the Year Award is the latest addition to The British Book Awards, publishing's equivalent of the BAFTA's.

The winner of the Richard & Judy Best Read Award will be announced at The 15th annual British Book Awards which will be held on the 7th April 2004 at Grosvenor House, London. The awards will be hosted by Richard and Judy and broadcast in a special Channel 4 programme on the 9th April 2004.
