11/11/2004 Cruise buys rights to The Devil's Banker
Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner, his production partner, have bought the film rights to the Christopher Reich thriller The Devil's Banker.
Variety reports that the project will be seen as a platform to track the new heroes of the war on Terrorism. The story follows a female British spy and a US accountant-turned-agent who join forces to try and stop a terrorist attack by a mastermind involved in moving vast sums of money across the world.
Random House published Reich's book in August of this year.
Tom Cruise is soon to begin work on Stephen Spielberg's War of the Worlds.
