South Tipperary Writer's Festival this weekend

Impressions - South Tipperary Writer's Festival takes place this weekend from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 October in Clonmel.

Writers who will be attending include Niall Williams, Michael Coady, Dermot Healy and Clare Keegan.

The Festival will be opened on Friday night by Sarajevian author Zlata Filipovic and Kurdish poet Choman Hardi.

Children's writer Darren Shan is just one of the highlights on Sunday and Ulick O'Connor will present The Laurence Sterne Lecture on the life of Oliver St John Gogarty, lyric poet, surgeon, wit, athlete, aviator and senator.

Tickets for all events can be obtained from the South Tipperary Arts Centre in Clonmel (052 27877).
