14/04/2004 Sony buy rights to 9-11 book
Sony Pictures have bought the film rights for a best-selling book at the centre of a national debate on America's security.
Richard Clarke, the author of 'Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror', told the US commission investigating the 11 September attacks that the Bush White House did not consider terrorism an urgent matter.
Clarke served for 30 years as the head of counter-terrorism under four presidents before retiring next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be produced by veteran Hollywood executive John Calley.
Calley, who has worked on films including 'Dirty Harry', 'Remains of the Day' and 'Men in Black', was also involved in 'All The President's Men', the 1976 dramatisation of the Watergate scandal.
