15/10/2004 Patrick Kavanagh reading at Dublin Writers Museum
To celebrate the centenary of the birth of famed Irish poet Patrick
Kavanagh, the Dublin Writer's Museum will host a reading of his work.
The programme contains some biographical information on the poet, extracts
from his two semi-autobiographies Tarry Flynn and The Green Fool and reads
of a number of his poems.
Admission to the event is free.
October sees a two-month long Patrick Kavanagh Centenary Festival which
incorporates Poets' Corner on the Dart, a commemorative stamp, the launch of
his Collected Poems and screenings of Patrick Kavanagh-related films at the
IFI.
