22/07/2004 Tóibín play is to debut next month
Award-winning author Colm Tóibín's debut play, 'Beauty in a Broken Place', is to open at Dublin's Peacock Theatre next month.
Part of the 'Summer at the Abbey' season, 'Beauty in a Broken Place' takes audiences into the world of Sean O'Casey as he recalls the people and events surrounding the premiere of his play 'The Plough and the Stars' in 1926.
Directed by Niall Henry, 'Beauty in a Broken Place' stars Donal O'Kelly as O'Casey, with the cast also including Sean Campion, Derbhle Crotty, Karen Ardiff, Karl Sheils and Catríona Ní Mhurchu.
'Beauty in a Broken Place' opens on Monday 16 August, with previews from Wednesday 11 August.
