23/08/2004 Enid Blyton's Famous Five top poll
Enid Blyton's Famous Five books have been voted top in a poll to discover which books adults most enjoyed as children.
According to the BBC website, the survey was carried out among more than 1,000 people between the ages of 25 and 54.
They were asked to name their favourite book from childhood and Blyton's series Famous Five adventures came out at number one.
The 21 books, which were written between 1942 and 1963, beat CS Lewis' fantasy tale 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe' into second place.
Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Treasure Island' came third, followed by Blyton's The Secret Seven series and Black Beauty by Anna Sewell at number five.
