25/08/2004 Morton in talks about Capote movie
Oscar-nominated 'In America' star Samantha Morton and Oscar winner Chris Cooper are in talks about joining the cast of a second, as-yet-untitled Truman Capote biopic.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Philip Seymour Hoffman is set to play Capote in the film, which is based on Gerald Clarke's book
'Capote: A Biography'.
The film, due to begin shooting in the autumn, focuses on Capote's friendship with killer Perry Smith, the subject of his acclaimed book 'In Cold Blood'.
Another rival Capote biopic, 'Every Word is True', stars British actor Toby Stephens and also focuses on the writer-killer friendship.
Mark Wahlberg was due to play Smith in the film but has now left the project.
