Harry Potter reading in Writer's Museum

Harry Potter agus an Órchloch
The Dublin Writers Museum will host a reading from the first Irish translation of a Harry Potter book on 15 December.

The book, entitled Harry Potter agus an Órchloch, is a translation of JK Rowling's first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Máire Nic Mhaolain, who translated the book, will introduce and read from her translation of the Harry Potter classic at the Dublin Writers Museum between 11am and 1pm on 15 December next.

Máire Nic Mhaolain has translated over 25 books to date, mostly translating children's books into Irish. She currently works as an Irish lexicography and terminology editor.

Many schools around the country, both primary and secondary, have already begun using the Irish translation of the Harry Potter book as a teaching aid, with sales of the book reported to be high.

Harry Potter agus an Órchloch is published by Bloomsbury.
