Harry Potter hype campaign planned

UK publisher Bloomsbury is standing by to start its biggest ever advertising campaign for the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

The launch of JK Rowling's latest book will begin on Monday, with over 2,000 buses across the Ireland and the UK will carry the message "All Aboard for Harry".

Bookshops have been given 16-day "count-down clocks" in the lead-up to the worldwide launch on 16 July.

The new book will be launched at Edinburgh Castle, immediately after midnight on Saturday July 16, when J K Rowling will read from it to an invited audience of children. Many large bookshops will hold midnight parties to celebrate the book's launch.

Online bookshop, Amazon, said earlier this week that it has taken more than one million pre-orders worldwide for the new book.
