Irish Writer's Centre to hold 'Get Published' day
The Irish Writers Union will host an information day on getting published on January 22 in Dublin.
Irish writers hoping to achieve success by writing will have many of their publication questions answered by a selection of experts.
The subjects that will be covered on the day include the view from the editor's desk; exploring the author/agent relationship; demystifying the contract; getting your name out there; life after Harry Potter; writing for the media and making the pitch. This will be followed by questions and answers with a panel.
Attending on the day and answering questions will be Ciara Considine, publisher and editor of Hodder Headline Ireland, Faith O'Grady, a literary agent Lisa Richards Agency, Joe Hoban, PR and marketing manager with New Island publishers, Ide Ní Laoghaire, head of editorial at O'Brien Press; Patricia O'Reilly, a writer, researcher and lecturer, Grace Jolliffe, a screenwriter, filmmaker and novelist, the novelist Áine McCarthy and editor Brendan Nolan.
Any prospective writers wishing to attend can register on January 22nd at 9.30 am in the Irish Writer's Centre, 19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1.
The course costs €50 and as space is limited, advance booking is necessary.
