Public will chose winner of new US book award
The new US book awards, The Quill Awards will be decided by a public vote.
The public will be able to vote for their favourites online or in bookstores.
The Quill Awards will be handed out in 15 categories, including book of the year, rookie of the year, best book to film and graphic novel of the year.
Selections for the awards begin in May, after a panel of booksellers and librarians pick a list of nominees.
The winners will be announced in October with a presentation ceremony show on the NBC network.
The awards were announced by NBC Universal and Reed Business International, the publishers of magazines Variety, Library Journal and Publishers Weekly.
