Harry Potter voted best fantasy hero
Harry Potter has been voted the Greatest Fantasy Hero of All Time in a new poll.
JK Rowling's creation took the honour in the UK's Sci-Fi Channel 10th anniversary poll, ahead of the cyborg star of Terminator 2, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Spiderman and Doctor Who, who came second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
Darth Vader was named the Greatest Villain. He was followed by the monster from the Alien films and The Borg from Star Trek. The Daleks came fourth, followed by Batman's The Joker.
The new Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire opens in Ireland on 18th November.
