04/08/2005 Book deal for Desperate Housewives star
American actress Teri Hatcher, who stars in hit TV series Desperate Housewives, has signed a deal to write a book - to be called Burnt Toast.
The book of advice and inspiration will be published by Hyperion early in 2006.
Hatcher, who has a 7-year-old daughter, will write about her experience with single motherhood, her rise to fame, her down time after her first starring role in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman ended and her meteoric second wind that included a 2005 Golden Globe Award, a 2005 Screen Actors Guild Award and a 2005 Emmy Award Nomination
"I have had many women approach me, sharing their own stories, and ask me how it feels to have a second chance at 40,'' Hatcher said in a statement.
"With this book, I truly hope to reach everyone that I don't bump into on the street and share my story.''
Robert S Miller, the president of Hyperion: "We're very excited to be publishing Teri's book because Hyperion feels that Teri has much to say that will be valuable to other women."
"It will draw on experiences from her daily life to which we feel that many women can relate, and they certainly don't have to be a celebrity to relate to Teri Hatcher."
