11/05/2005 Hunt to make directorial debut with Lipman adaptation
Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt will star in and make her feature directorial debut with an adaptation of the Elinor Lipman novel Then She Found Me.
Variety reports that Hunt will also star in the movie, which she has adapted from the Elinor Lipman novel of the same name.
The book centres on a Philadelphia schoolteacher as she goes through a midlife crisis - her husband leaves her, her adoptive mother dies, and her birth mother re-enters her life as she begins an affair with the father of one of her students.
Diane Keaton and Woody Harrelson are in negotiations to star opposite Hunt.
Hunt, who has been adapting the script on and off for seven years, said: "It is a story about betrayal and the surprising, funny and redemptive things that are borne out of that."
