Paul McCartney publishes book

High in the Clouds
Paul MacCartney has become the latest celebrity to publish a children's book. The book High in the Clouds went on release earlier this month.

The book was reportedly inspired by Tropic Island Hum, an animated film McCartney helped to create and was co-written with Philip Ardagh who was brought in after a first draft to 'finesse' the book. The book was illustrated by Geoff Dunbar.

In the first six pages of High in the Clouds, Wirral, an industrious squirrel who the book is about, loses his mother, when she is crushed to death by a tree. From there he sets off for the mythic animal-loving land of Animalia.

"Having worked on this story and the characters for many years, it's very exciting for me to see things come to fruition in what I think is a remarkable book," McCartney said in a statement.

62-year-old McCartney has five children of his own: four from his first wife, Linda McCartney, who died of cancer in 1998, and a one-year-old daughter with his wife, Mills McCartney.
