Eastwood invited to open Yeats summer school
The Yeats Society has announced that they have invited Clint Eastwood to open this year's summer school in Sligo. The Society decided to approach Eastwood after they noticed the use of Yeats' poetry in Eastwood's Oscar winning film, Million Dollar Baby.
Michael Keohane, President of the Yeats Society, revealed that the Hollywood star has not accepted yet, but there is still plenty of time for him to respond to the invitation.
The Yeats summer school, which is in its 46th year, will take place in Sligo from 31st July to 12th August. The event will feature readings by Paul Muldoon, Tom Paulin, Andrew O'Hagan, Vona Groarke, Julie O'Callaghan, Eamon Grennan and Dennis O'Driscoll.
