Booking opened for Kilkenny Arts Festival
Booking opened yesterday for the Kilkenny Arts Festival which will run from 12th to 21st August.
In it's 32nd year the festival is featuring eight strands; Street Spectacle, Theatre, Classical Music, Jazz/World/Traditional Music, Literature, Film, Visual Art and Young People's Events.
Among those taking part in this year's festival are comic Deirdre O'Kane, writer Eoin Colfer, artist John Shinnors, Altan, Scullion and Donal Lunny's Mozaik.
Among this year's other highlights are the return of theatre group The Performance Corporation with 'The Yokohama Delegation'; UK choir Ex Cathedra performing in St Canice's Cathedral; appearances by IMPAC-shortlisted author Guy Vanderhaeghe and Sebastian Barry; a screening of Theodor Dreyer's 1928 classic 'Le Passion de Jeanne d'Arc' with a new live soundtrack by 3epkano and an interactive show for young people from Kila.
