14/02/2005 Harry Potter scoops Bafta award
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has taken the Bafta award for Orange Film Of The Year (ten biggest UK box office hits of 2004, voted by the public) last night in London.
It had strong competition from, amongst others, Bridget Jones and the Edge of Reason, I, Robot and Shark Tale.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third book of JK Rowling's series of Hogwarts tales to be adapted for the big screen.
The director was Alfonso Cuarón, who has also sucessfullly helmed such novel friendly adaptations as A Little Princess (1995) and Great Expectations (1998). It was released in Ireland during early summer 2004.
