Two men in court over Potter book theft

Two men appeared in court yesterday before Kettering Magistrates, Northants in connection with stealing advance copies of the much-anticipated new Harry Potter book.

Aaron Lambert, 19, and Christopher Brown, 37 are accused of offering two stolen copies of the book to John Askill, a reporter from British tabloid newspaper The Sun.

Lambert is charged with stealing two copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and of possessing a replica hand gun.

Brown will face a count of handling the stolen books, and of possessing an illegal weapon.

Lambert was given bail until 10 October while Brown bailed to return to the magistrates court in two weeks.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth book in Harry Potter series. It will be published worldwide on 16 July.
