Donegal teen cast in Notes on a Scandal film

Donegal actor Andrew Simpson has been cast in the film adaptation of Zo Heller's Notes on a Scandal.

Simpson is to play the role of a boy who has an affair with his married pottery teacher, played by Cate Blanchett.

Judi Dench also stars as a fellow teacher who becomes obsessed with Cate's character when she hears about the affair.

Bill Nighy also appears in the film as Cate's screen husband

Simpson previously starred in Aisling Walsh's Song For A Raggy Boy.

Notes on a Scandal was adapted for film by Patrick Marber and is being helmed by Iris director Richard Eyre.
