World food media nominees announced
It has been announced that Stephanie Alexander, Dean Brettschneider and Lauraine Jacobs, Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain are among the nominees for the 2005 World Food Media Awards.
The awards, known as 'The Ladles', are the Oscars of the food and drink world and, since their inception in 1997, the awards have attracted more than 3,500 entries from over 25 countries.
Entrants from the United Kingdom, USA and Australia lead the list of entrants this year, with nominees from Canada, Singapore, Belgium, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany and Thailand also in competition.
Awards in 25 categories will be presented during a ceremony on Saturday, 29 October at the Tasting Australia festival.
Entries were eligible for the 2005 awards if they were first published or broadcast between May 2003 and 2005.
