Binchy, O'Connor for Joyce anthology

Maeve Binchy and Joseph O'Connor are among the eleven Irish writers to have written short stories about Dublin for an anthology in celebration of James Joyce's Dubliners.

Joycean scholar Senator David Norris launched the book, which has the title New Dubliners: Stories to Celebrate Joyce's Dubliners, in Dublin on Wednesday night.

The contributors include Bernard MacLaverty, Dermot Bolger, Clare Boylan, Colum McCann, Anthony Glavin, Ivy Bannister, Desmond Hogan and Roddy Doyle as well as Tony Award-winning playwright Frank McGuinness in his short story debut.
