Keenan, Welsh for Clonmel Writers' Festival

Brian Keenan and Irvine Welsh are among the authors lined up for this year's Clonmel Writers' Festival which starts this Thursday, 20 October.

The festival will continue over the weekend, ending with the third annual Sterne Lecture, presented by historian Dr Diarmaid Ferriter on Sunday 23 October.

The Impressions panel debate - Escape from Emerald City: Alternatives to a Dublin-centred Ireland - will also take place on Sunday.

Other writers involved include Irish journalist Nell McCafferty, Booker Prize longlisted author Marina Lewycka and children's author Aubrey Flegg.
