19/02/2005 Maupin's The Night Listener to be adapted for film
The acclaimed Armistead Maupin book The Night Listener is to be adapted for the big screen.
Patrick Stenner who directed The Business of Strangers will direct the film which goes into production next month in New York.
Variety reports that Robin Williams and Toni Collette are to star in the film that tells the story of a radio show host who develops a telephone relationship with his biggest fan, a dying boy. The friendship then forces the presenter to face up to all the relationships in his life.
Sandra Oh and Rory Culkin are reported to be in talks to join the cast.
