19/05/2005 Controversial Tim Collins coming to Dublin
Tim Collins who led the British troops into Iraq will be in Dublin on Saturday 21st May to sign copies of his new book.
Tim Collins, the ex British Army Colonel (leader of the 1st Royal Irish Regiment) who led the British troops into Iraq and gave the infamous speech on the eve of the invasion will be signing copies of his explosive new book Rules of Engagement in Easons O'Connell St. at 12.30pm on Saturday 21st May.
Collins hit the headlines all over the world on his return from the war in Iraq when he was pilloried by two UK national newspapers and accused of numerous war crimes. These charges were subsequently dropped. He has since left the army and written a book about the truth behind the war crimes charges.
Collins book Rules of Engagement, includes details of his time with the 1st Royal Irish Regiment where he combated the loyalist murder gangs in East Tyrone, held the line between two communities during the Holy Cross dispute in Belfast and survived ambush in the deserts of Iraq.
Collins has been awarded the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service on the Operational Honours and Awards List, and in 2003 he received an OBE for the Liberation of Iraq.
