Rowling dreads when the magic will end
In her only UK television interview with fourteen year old Owen Jones, Rowling revealed that she is dreading the end of the Potter series.
Owen Jones won the chance to put his questions to JK Rowling when he won an ITV television show to find the ultimate Harry Potter fan.
When asked about finishing the series, Rowling said: "I am dreading it in some ways. I do love writing the books and it is going to be a shock, a profound shock to me."
"Even though I have known it is coming for the past fifteen years, I have known that the series would end, I think it will still be a shock," she said.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince the sixth book in a seven part series is expected to be the fastest-selling book in history, with British retailer Waterstone's forecasting that 10 million copies would have been snapped up worldwide during the first 24 hours of trade.
In the United States, the largest bookseller, Barnes & Noble Inc., said it sold 1.3 million copies in the first 48 hours. In the first hour, the bookstore chain said it sold 379,000 copies or 105 copies per second.
The launch, at one minute past midnight British time on Saturday, ended months of hype and elaborate steps to protect the plot.
Reviews appeared on the Internet within hours of the release, most of them favorable.
British newspapers have predicted that Rowling's personal fortune already estimated at $1 billion, would increase by $44 million as a result of the first day sales alone.
Rowling expects to finish the last book in the Potter series next year.
