Kanon's Good German goes into production
Production has started on the film adaptation of Joseph Kanon's novel The Good German.
Steven Soderbergh directs the thriller, which stars George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Tobey Maguire.
The Good German, which is set in Berlin directly after WWII, follows a US Army war correspondent (Clooney) who gets caught up in a mystery involving his former lover (Blanchett) and her missing husband.
The film is shooting on location in Los Angeles and is due for release in 2006.
