New Pope's books flying off shelves
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger being selected as the new pope has led to a huge demand for his books. The Cardinal has published many books including Truth and Tolerance, Salt of the Earth and The Ratzinger Report a full-length interview from the 1980s.
Within hours of Ratzinger being announced as the new pope several of his books jumped onto the bestseller list of Amazon.com. Including his memoirs, Milestones which covers his life through 1977. Many of the books were not immediately available to customers due to the high demand.
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was named the successor to Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. 78 year old Ratzinger is the first German pope since the 11th century and has chosen the name Pope Benedict XVI.
