C.K. Williams wins $100,000 poetry prize

C.K. Williams has been named the winner of this year's Ruth Lily Poetry Prize.

Williams has previously won the Pulitzer prize and many other honours and will be awarded €100,000 for the Ruth Lily Prize.

The prize winner was announced yesterday by Poetry Magazine where Williams' was first published in 1964.

C. K Williams has published many books including The Singing, Felsh and Blood and Repair the winner of the Pulitzer in 2000.

The Lilly award was established in 1986 by Ruth Lilly, the drug company philanthropist who later gave the Chicago-based magazine a $100 million grant. Previous winners include John Ashbery and Adrienne Rich.
