Dublin Writers Festival programme announced
Over forty writers are involved in the 2005 Dublin Writers Festival, which takes place from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 June.
Irish and international novelists, biographers and poets will read from their work at the Project in Dublin's Temple Bar over the weekend.
The programme also features a number of themed events.
Canadian literary journalist and broadcaster Eleanor Wachtel will chair a debate between international poets, including Carolyn Forché and Theo Dorgan, about what inspires their imaginations.
Irish authors Gabriel Fitzmaurice, Jack Harte, Brian Leyden, Noel Monahan and Mary O'Donnell will perform readings around the theme of The Home Place.
Telling the Truth focuses on readings and discussion on the process of biography with biographers Sarah Churchwell (The Many Lives of Marilyn Monroe) and Adam Feinstein (Pablo Neruda: A Passion for Life).
Three of the best-known names in contemporary German writing - Thomas Brussig, Christoph Hein and Juli Zeh - will be present for a discussion entitled Berlin Republic.
The Gala Closing Event at The Gate Theatre features readings by Tobias Hill, Hilary Mantel and Eugene McCabe with music by Dunne and Hernandez.
