26/05/2005 Betting reopens on new Harry Potter book
Bookmakers have reopened betting on the possible death of Professor Dumbledore in the latest Harry Potter book.
Betting started eight months ago when author JK Rowling said that a key character would die in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is due out in July.
It was suspended earlier this week after a number of bets on the death of the headmaster of Hogwarts aroused suspicion of a possible leak.
Publishers Bloomsbury have advised readers to take the news about Dumbledore with a pinch of salt.
"There was a huge amount of speculation about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and it was wide of the mark," a spokesperson said.
The sixth installment in the series about the boy wizard will be unveiled on 16 July at Edinburgh Castle.
