26/08/2005 Bushnell's Lipstick Jungle for TV series?
Lipstick Jungle, the new book from Candace Bushnell - the author of Sex and the City - may be turned into a television series.
"I haven't signed any deals yet but there's a lot of interest in Lipstick Jungle becoming a TV series," Bushnell told Reuters. "Nothing's been finalized but hopefully it will be in the next couple of weeks."
Lipstick Jungle, which will be published in September, is again based in New York and tells the story of three successful career women - a film producer, a fashion designer and a magazine executive.
Bushnell originally wrote Sex and The City as a newspaper column in 1994 before publishing it as a novel.
It was adapted by writer and producer Darren Starr for television channel HBO and the series became a smash hit before it ended in 2004.
