29/08/2005 Glamour model Jordan gets two-novel deal
Katie Price, better known as glamour model Jordan, has signed a book deal with Random House to write two novels as well as a new autobiography.
Her first autobiography, Being Jordan, sold half a million copies in hardback alone, earned £4.7 million when it was published by Blake last year.
Jordan once admitted to not having read that autobiography but that has not deterred her from writing a second volume.
The book to be published in February, will tell the full story of her romance with singer Peter Andre, and the birth of their child. The couple are to marry in September.
Charlotte Bush, the divisional publicity director at Random House, told the Telegraph newspaper:
"We approached Katie with the idea. I guess she will work with writers. I'm sure she will be a good novelist. They will be contemporary fiction."
"We are really excited about it. Katie has said she will do a lot of publicity. We have seen from the success of Being Jordan that there is a real interest and appetite for Katie Price."
She added that a "substantial" deal had been signed.
