Coens brothers to helm new McCarthy novel
Joel and Ethan Coen will direct the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's new
novel No Country for Old Men, according to Production Weekly.
Set along a bloody frontier in Texas, this is McCarthy's first novel since
Cities of the Plain completed his acclaimed, bestselling Border Trilogy.
No Country for Old Men is a noir thriller which follows a man and his young
wife when they go on the run after finding a suitcase full of money.
The film is due to go into production in May and will shoot in Texas and New
Mexico.
McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses, the first volume of The Border Trilogy,
was previously made into a film starring Matt Damon, Henry Thomas and
Penélope Cruz.
