Book on way from Franz Ferdinand frontman
Alex Kapranos, the frontman of Scottish band Franz Ferdinand, is to publish a collection of food columns.
A former sous-chef, last September he began Soundbites, a weekly food column for The Guardian , which detailed his culinary adventures as the band traveled on their world tour.
He is now expanding the column into a book for Fig Tree and Penguin Publishing, featuring new illustrations by Andy Knowles - Franz Ferdinand's touring drummer and keyboard player.
Fig Tree will publish in Autumn 2006, and Penguin in Spring 2007.
