Robert Downey Jr to write autobiography
American actor Robert Downey Jr has just signed a deal to write his memoirs.
The 41-year-old actor has signed a deal with HarperEntertainment, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers who hope to release the book in 2008.
Downey received an Oscar nomination for Chaplin in 1993.
He also he had recurring problems with drugs and alcohol in the 1990s and was on probation until 2002.
The publishers promised what they call a "candid look at the highs and lows" of his life and career.
Downey's more recent films include Good Night, and Good Luck, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and Richard Linklater's futuristic thriller, A Scanner Darkly.
