Author of Jaws dies at 65
Peter Benchley, the author of Jaws, died at the weekend at his home in
Princeton, New Jersey. He was 65.
Jaws was first published in 1974. It sold more than 20 million copies and
was made into a film by Stephen Spielberg the Benchley Benchley, who
co-wrote the screenplay for Jaws, also had a cameo as a reporter in the
film.
He wrote several other novels which were adapted for the big screen,
including The Deep and The Island.
