Hemmingway for audio publication
Audio editions of Ernest Hemingway classics, for long only available to
libraries, are to be released from by publishers Simon & Schuster Audio from
May 2006.
The series will start with A Farewell To Arms, For Whom The Bell Tolls, and
the Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning The Old Man And The Sea.Subsequent
titles will be published monthly, culminating in January 2007. All titles
will be available in eAudio format for download as well as CD.
In a statement issued through Simon & Schuster, the author's son, Patrick
Hemingway, said his "father would have been pleased to have so many of his
finest works published in audiobook form.
"Reading Hemingway is to listen to him, to 'hear' the dialogue. The spoken
word versions will certainly add another dimension to his writing and will
entice new audiences to his work," Hemingway added.
Audiobooks of Hemingway's short stories, read by actor Stacy Keach, are
already are sold through Simon & Schuster Audio.
