At Swim-Two-Birds in IFI

At Swim-Two-Birds
Dublin's Irish Film Institute screened a film adaptation of Flann O'Brien's comic novel, At Swim-Two-Birds, last night as part of the Dublin: One City, One Book scheme.

One City, One Book is a city council scheme to encourage people to read the same book at the same time.

Everyone living, working and visiting the capital city throughout May and June will be encouraged to read At Swim-Two-Birds. Austrian avant-garde theatre director Kurt Palm made this film version in 1997.

It was screened at the IFI last night, Wednesday 17 May, at 6.30pm and was be introduced by Flann O'Brien's brother Micheál Ó Nualláin. One City, One Book continues with a bus tour of At Swim-Two-Birds Dublin landmarks this Saturday and there will also be a series of lectures on the book in local libraries.

More information on the event is available online on the Dublin City Council website.
