Peel, Rowling, Oliver on Best Book shortlist
BBC radio broadcaster John Peel's posthumous autobiography, JK Rowling's
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Jamie Oliver's latest cookbook
are among six books shortlisted for the WH Smith Book of the Year award.
Peel's Margrave of the Marshes was finished by his wife Sheila after Peel's
unexpected death in October 2004.
Jamie's Italy is Oliver's TV tie-in with the Channel 4 series of the same
name in which he travels around Italy in his VW camper van, cooking along
the way.
Also in competition are Sharon Osbourne's Extreme: My Autobiography, The
Insider by Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson's The World According to
Clarkson.
The awards, now in their 17th year, are the only book awards to be decided
by public vote. The annual ceremony takes place in London next month.
