Erica James takes Romantic Novel of the Year Award
It was fifth time lucky for best-selling author Erica James who has won this year's prestigious Romantic Novel of the Year Award.
The 2005 novel, Gardens of Delight, is set amid the gardens of Lake Como in Italy and is James' eleventh book.
James has been shortlisted for the annual award four times previously for past books - Airs And Graces, Act Of Faith, Precious Time and Love And Devotion.
She beat six other shortlisted authors to the title, including Nicholas Sparks and two former winners, Audrey Howard and Jojo Moyes.
James was presented with a 10,000 cheque at the annual awards lunch at the Savoy Hotel in London yesterday.
