Portman and Bana may star in Other Boleyn Girl

Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman and Eric Bana are in talks to star in a film adaptation of Philippa Gregory's historical novel The Other Boleyn Girl.

The film is to be helmed by Justin Chadwick, who most recently directed a BAFTA-winning TV version of Charles Dickens' Bleak House.

The book tells the story of two sisters, Mary and Anne Boleyn, who competed for the bed and heart of the King Henry VIII.

Portman is tipped for the part of Anne Boleyn while it is thought that Bana will play the role of King Henry VIII.

In 2003 BBC Films made a TV movie starring Natascha McElhone in the role of Mary Boleyn.
