The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes  Chick Lit Irish
(Published by Poolbeg)
3 Stars

Three women with seemingly unrelated lives form a circle where everything that goes around, comes around.

Jojo Harvey is a literary agent, and also energetic, ambitious and sexy to boot. Highly competitive, Jojo is desperate to climb the corporate ladder. But, with inter-office politics running high, life isn't easy - and of course Jojo is also having a relationship with her (married) boss.

One of Jojo's clients is Lily Wright. She accidentally wrote a best-selling book but is convinced that bad karma will stop her from ever writing a second novel. Anton, the love of her life and father of her child, has already spent her huge advance. As the bills pile up Lily's despair grows and grows.

Gemma Hogan is an events organiser. She used to be best friends with Lily, but Lily stole her boyfriend. Gemma's Dad has just walked out of his 30-year marriage and her mum has become needy and depressed. Gemma's social life has become non-existent - a hugely embarrassing situation which leads to a number of hilarious emails to a friend. Emails that somehow find their way onto Jojo's desk, and all of a sudden Gemma's about to become an author.

The Other Side of the Story is written in a chatty style that is typical of Keyes. It will make you laugh out loud and you won't want to put it down. The Techie Also by Marian Keyes
